Does your child seem anxious or have a high anxiety level? Do they complain about tags, textures, smells, tastes, touches, sounds, or hate to have their hair cut or washed? Do they have balance or coordination problems? Do they struggle with hand-writing?
Children progress along a fairly predictable developmental timeline. However, sometimes, for a variety of reasons, they either miss steps or have gaps in their development. There are many ways of going about addressing these missed stages. However, looking at the hierarchy of how the brain develops provides the clearest picture.
Looking at your child from this perspective, we can look at the vestibular system, the proprioseptive system, the primitive and postural reflexes and the sensory system. By looking at all of these systems, individually as well as how they are functioning as a whole, we can determine what steps might have been missed.
The good news is after this assessment a home program can be designed to integrate these systems in approximately 15-20 minutes twice a day. The brain makes changes based on frequency, intensity, duration and consistency. When we give the brain what it needs, it makes the necessary changes.
I look forward to cheering you on throughout this “roller-coaster” ride we call parenthood. It’s bumpy, it’s wild, there are lots of ups and downs, turn-arounds, and an occasional squeal or two (hopefully, of pure delight…but, we know about the other ones too!) I look forward to talking with you…
Let me know how I can help! <=== MY NOTE: I wouldn’t say this. Instead, let the reader know exactly how you can help 😀
